Oh the tedious task of brushing your child’s teeth….
Keeping your kids pearly whites clean and healthy isn’t easy and the younger they are the harder!
Luckily, my three year old knows how to brush her teeth on her own now, with some help at the end of course. And one thing that helps the whole process is using an attractive, fun toothbrush. Alina loves her Peppa Pig power toothbrush, which I definitely recommend! The rotating powered toothbrush head helps get in between the teeth, clean thoroughly and what’s better than having your favorite cartoon character right on the toothbrush itself!
My one year old, one the other hand, typically just licks off the toothpaste off his toothbrush, so yeah…we got plenty to learn with him.
Along with a daily routine, habit and a good toothbrush, it’s important to use an effective children’s’ toothpaste to prevent plaque build-up and cavities. Small children are definitely not fond of the dentist (I mean, who is?!)
Last time I had to bring my 3 year old daughter to a dentist for a simple cleaning and check-up, we spend half an hour trying to have her open her mouth, begging and bribing. And I can’t fathom my kids having a cavity. No one wants to go through Novocain, drilling and filling, especially small children!
So I thought I’d share some of my kids favorite toothpastes (that don’t contain fluoride).
*It’s important to use fluoride free toothpaste with children who don’t know how to spit the toothpaste out.

Great, mildly sweet watermelon flavor. Fluoride-free and safe to swallow. Free of sulfates, parabens, dyes and artificial flavors. Removes plaque and whitens. With added aloe vera and natural sweeteners like xylitol and erythritol. We love this one!
Fluoride-free toothpaste that’s safe to swallow with kid-approved flavors like mild fruit, mint and silly strawberry. No artificial flavors. Used silica and calcium to gently clean.
Strawberry, fluoride-free toothpaste and safe to swallow. Free of sulfates, parabens and artificial flavors. Gently cleans and removes plaque.
I have not personally used this toothpaste with my kids unlike all of the above, but I’ve read great reviews about it. Free of fluoride, dyes and preservatives. No synthetic colors or flavors. They use essential oils for essence, such as Thieves (exceptional cleaning power) and Slique for sweetness.
This toothpaste also has great reviews! Flavor, sugar and color free. No artificial preservatives. Has awesome flavors kids would love such as blackcurrant, raspberry, banana, blueberry and strawberry. They even have a flavor-free toothpaste if that’s what you like.
